Transport Operator


Job description

The Transport Operator is responsible for supervising the hauling of oversize loads on hydraulic transporters, trailers and other hauling equipment. The Transport Operator is responsible for assisting in loading and unloading trucks and trailers. The Transport Operator also is responsible for barge loading and unloading.

Operations Manager

Key result areas

  • Keep daily records of activity 
  • Be able to respond quickly and safely to request 
  • Make sure that certifications are kept current and valid to perform jobs 
  • Maintain a professional atmosphere at all times while performing a task

Key skills

  • Ability to determine if the trailer is loaded correctly before the equipment leaves a location
  • Ability to communicate clearly with the driver at all times 
  • Make sure that the equipment is up to roadside inspections at all times 
  • Ability to troubleshoot small problems related with equipment 
  • Make sure that the escort vehicle that assigned is kept clean and maintains all items needed for escorting through various states

Education & experience

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent 
  • Must be able to speak, read and write English 
  • Knowledge of OSHA and Mammoet safety regulations 
  • Must be able to understand and apply established procedures 
  • Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credential) card 
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid passport for international travel
  • Must be able to pass Basic Safety Training through Area Safety Councils
  • CDL is preferred but not required
