North American Heavy-Duty Railcars are cars in excess of 4 axle lines with a combined capacity and tare weight greater than 286,000 lbs. Mammoet has a fleet of Heavy-Duty Railcars with 8, 12, 18, 24 and 44 axle lines capable of carrying capacity from 200 to 1,200 metric tons. The 18, 24 and 44 axle cars can be shifted horizontally and vertically which allows greater clearance opportunities when moving over-sized loads. All rail cars require a locomotive to pull and/or push cars from point to point.
