Mammoet receives a recognition award from PETRONAS for excellence in safety and in timely execution of the work performed by the company.

Johor Bahru, Malaysia – Mammoet helped PETRONAS mark another milestone as their propylene fractionator, one of the components for their Pengerang Integrated Complex, measuring 121.3 meters and weighing 1,808.6 tons, was recognized by the Malaysia Book of Record as the tallest and heaviest process column in Malaysia.

The award was presented by the Malaysia Book of Record’s Director of Operation, Mr. Christopher Wong Hong Wai during the Arrival Ceremony at Pengerang Integrated Complex (PIC) in Pengerang, Johor.

During the ceremony, Mammoet received a recognition award from PETRONAS for excellence in safety and in the timely execution of the work performed by the company. The award was received by Ben Schulte, Operations Director of Mammoet APAC.

Mammoet, the world’s largest service provider specializing in engineered heavy lifting and transport, provides the majority of the heavy lifting and transport of oversized and heavy components for the Pengerang Integrated Complex (PIC) Development. This development takes place at Tanjung Setapa Malaysia. PETRONAS is developing a US$26m Refinery and Petrochemical Integrated Development project and other associated facilities. Recently, Mammoet has opened a new yard close by the project site which enables quick mobilization and optimization of transport and lifting schedules.

To date, Mammoet has moved nine heavy vessels and columns for the steam cracker facility from Material Offloading Facility (MOLF) Tanjung Setapa to the laydown area.
